Union County Bass Anglers
1. Participants: Tournaments are open to anyone over 18 years of age. If under 18 years of age you must be accompanied in the boat by someone over 18 years of age. Union County Bass Anglers is open to all boat makes, models and motor sizes. The Tournament Director and other tournament officials are permitted to fish all tournaments.
2. Union County Bass Anglers Membership: Membership is $25.00 per year per person, and the right to fish all UCBA Tournaments except for “The Classic”. To fish “The Classic” you have to fish 6 regular season tournaments to qualify.
3. Tournament Entry Fee: Each tournament has a $21.00 entry fee with $1 given to the dollar pot in which all club members are eligible for at the end of the year.
4. AOY Scoring: Angler of the year points are given as follows. 11 for 1st, 10 for 2nd, 9 for 3rd, 8 for 4th, 7 for 5th, 6 for 6th, 5 for 7th, 4 for 8th, 3 for 9th, 2 for 10th, 1 for 11th, and 1 point is given to anyone fishing in that days tournament. AOY prize money is based on club membership dues for that year.
5. “The Classic” Tournament: The 2010 Season UCBA Classic will be held on Kentucky/Barkley Lakes, October 9th & 10th, 2010. There is a $40.00 entry fee for “The Classic” tournament. The prize money for “The Classic” will also be supplemented by a portion of that years membership dues.
6. Fish Limits: This is a five (5) fish limit per person for each tournament. On Kentucky and Barkley Lake all fish must be 15 inches in length and that includes spotted bass. On the Ohio River all fish must be 12 inches in length. Anyone bringing in more than five fish will have their sack culled to the five fish limit staring with big fish first.
7. Ties: Ties for big bass will split big bass pot. Ties for Angler of the year will be broke by the person with the heaviest total weight for the season.
8. No Live Bait: Only artificial lures can be used in all tournaments. The use of pork rine is permitted.
9. No Trolling: Trolling with the use of a combustible engine as a method of fishing is prohibited
10. Boat and Motor: Boats must have required Coast Guard safety equipment and must have a motor within rating limits.
11. Livewell Inspection: Boat must have a livewell, either built into the boat or portable. Livewells must have some type of pump or circulator to keep fish alive. All livewells will be checked on the ramp prior to launching the boat.
12. Short Fish Penalties: All fish brought to weigh-in must be of legal size determined by state law for that body of water fished. Short fish will be culled from your sack. The official measuring board of Union County Bass Anglers is the Gator Grip Professional Series Boards. A Gator Grip Professional Series board will be available at weigh-in as a courtesy board.
13. Dead Fish Penalty: There is no penalty for weighing in one dead fish at each tournament. There will be an 8 ounce penalty for each dead fish after the first dead fish weighed at each tournament. A dead fish will not be eligible for Big Bass money. It is our responsibility as anglers to maintain nature’s resources for future generations. Please use every means necessary to keep fish alive.
14. Late to weigh-in: There will be a deduction of 1 lb. per minute of your total weight for every minute late to weigh-in. After 15 minutes past weigh-in you are disqualified. If you experience mechanical difficulties call the tournament director and your fish will be brought to the weigh in.
15. Registration: Registration for the club and tournaments will be at the each tournament site starting a half hour before the start of the tournament. Registration will close at the start of the tournament. Tournament Directors will only accept cash at registration. Entry into the tournament after the tournament starting time will be accepted only by calling the Tournament Director prior to the start of the tournament. You can also have another participating member pay your entry fee prior to the start of the tournament.
16. Weigh-in Procedures: Bring all fish to the ramp. There will be a weigh-in station set up at the ramp.
17. Life Preserver: During all UCBA Tournaments, contestants are encouraged to wear their life jackets and use safe boating practices.
18. Off-Limits: You must observe all local and state off limit fishing areas. You may not fish closer than 50 yards to another competitor who is anchored with the trolling motor up unless given permission. If permission is given to one, then all may fish same water. Having a non-contestant sit on a hole for you shall be cause for disqualification.
19. Pre-Fishing: All UCBA Tournaments and “The Classic” will not be closed to pre-fishing.
20. Sportsmanship: All contestants are required to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy and conservation. Drunkenness shall be cause for immediate disqualification. No alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs shall be allowed in the boats during the tournament hours extending through the close of the weigh-in.
21. Leaving Your Boat: Competitors shall remain in the boat at all times during the tournament. Except in the event of sickness or brief excursions for “nature calling”, a sever storm or other such hazards. If for any reason a team decides to leave the tournament waters early, competitors must try to contact the director, prior to leaving the tournament.
22. Cheating: Anyone caught cheating in any tournament event will be immediately barred from fishing in any Union County Bass Anglers event. We reserve the right to have a random truth verification test performed at any time. You may not use a cell phone to gain an advantage over the rest of the competitors.
23. Protest: All protest must be submitted in writing to the club before the close of weigh-in. Verbal protests will not be accepted.
24. State Rules: All state rules and regulations must be followed. The tournament director shall determine the penalty for breaking state rules or regulations.
25. Insurance: All members will carry liability insurance on any boat they might use during any UCBA Tournaments. Failure to do so or reporting false information will result in disqualification.
26. Refusal of Membership: We reserve the right to refuse membership or entry into any of the Union County Bass Anglers tournament events.
